Clean residue from spectrophotometer cuvettes with the Indigo™ 22574 dental pick. Remove dried samples and contaminants from optical path windows without scratching quartz or glass surfaces.
Contaminated cuvettes produce inaccurate spectrophotometric readings, wasting expensive samples and compromising experimental results. Dried proteins, salts, and sample residues often accumulate in corners and along the optical path windows where standard washing can't reach. The Indigo™ 22574 precision pick provides laboratory technicians with a tool designed for delicate cuvette maintenance. The straight tip can reach into corners where residue collects, while the right-angle tip is ideal for carefully working along window edges without applying pressure that could scratch optical surfaces.
Indigo™ dental tools are made with AISI 410 German surgical grade stainless steel, not "alloy steel" made from rusted cars. We've been selling dental tools on-line since 1998. Ours stay sharp longer & are autoclavable: see Documentation below that confirms chromium & manganese content.
After initial washing, inspect cuvettes under good lighting for remaining residue. Use the straight tip to gently dislodge material from corners, working with minimal pressure to avoid scratching. For residue along optical windows, use the right-angle tip with extreme care, holding the tool nearly parallel to the surface. Never scrape directly against optical surfaces; instead, work from edges inward. Rinse thoroughly after mechanical cleaning and inspect under magnification. Re-clean if any residue remains before returning cuvettes to service.
Need an ultrafine tool to clear clogged nozzles or microfilters? Insect pins may be a practical alternative. Our unique 100 pin sampler package has 10 pins in 10 thicknesses, all made with grade 316 stainless steel.
