Align and adjust delicate optical fibers with the Indigo™ 22574 stainless steel precision pick. Non-magnetic tool ideal for telecommunications, laboratory fiber optics, and photonics research applications.
Optical fiber alignment demands submillimeter precision without damaging fragile glass fibers or contaminating optical surfaces. Whether splicing telecom cables, positioning fibers in connectors, or arranging multimode fiber arrays in laboratory setups, technicians need tools that provide fine control and won't introduce magnetic interference. The Indigo™ 22574's straight pointed tip allows precise manipulation of individual fibers, while the right-angle tip is perfect for adjusting fibers in tight connector housings and accessing recessed ferrules. The smooth stainless steel surface won't snag fiber coatings, and the tool can be cleaned with standard optical-grade solvents without degradation.
Indigo™ dental tools are made with AISI 410 German surgical grade stainless steel, not "alloy steel" made from rusted cars. We've been selling dental tools on-line since 1998. Ours stay sharp longer & are autoclavable: see Documentation below that confirms chromium & manganese content.
Work in a clean environment to prevent dust contamination. Use the straight tip to gently guide individual fibers into position, applying minimal pressure to avoid fiber breakage. When working with connectors or ferrules, use the right-angle tip to adjust fiber positions within the housing. Never use excessive force, optical fibers are fragile and will snap under stress. Clean the tool tips with lint-free wipes and isopropyl alcohol before and after use to prevent contamination transfer between fibers.
Need an ultrafine tool to clear clogged nozzles or microfilters? Insect pins may be a practical alternative. Our unique 100 pin sampler package has 10 pins in 10 thicknesses, all made with grade 316 stainless steel.

Kelli Cote Great quality products at a very reasonable price! Purchased some dental picks for my daughter's University paleontology club to help with their fossil preparation lab.
Sandra Mead I bought several stainless steel picks...strong,sharp and hold their shape; not like the ones you get on Amazon or at home depot...a good product at a good price...Thanks Indigo
They are exactly what I ordered and wanted. The quality appears excellent.
