Remove excess grout and caulk residue with the Indigo ™ 22574 stainless steel dental explorer tool. Clean tile joints and fixture edges without scratching porcelain, ceramic, or chrome surfaces.
Hardened grout and caulk residue on tile surfaces and fixture edges mars otherwise professional-looking installations. Standard scrapers and blades often scratch glazed tile, porcelain, or chrome finishes, creating permanent damage. The Indigo™ 22574 precision dental pick provides tile installers and homeowners with a safer removal method. Tthe straight pointed tip breaks up dried residue in controlled fashion, while the right-angle tip accesses corners where fixtures meet walls. The polished stainless steel is hard enough to remove stubborn deposits but won't scratch harder ceramic and porcelain surfaces when used with proper technique. From bathroom renovations to kitchen backsplash installations, this tool helps achieve clean, professional-looking grout lines and caulk joints.
Indigo™ dental tools are made with AISI 410 German surgical grade stainless steel, not "alloy steel" made from rusted cars. We've been selling dental tools on-line since 1998. Ours stay sharp longer & are autoclavable: see Documentation below that confirms chromium & manganese content.
For dried grout, lightly dampen the residue to soften it slightly. Use the straight tip at a low angle (nearly parallel to the surface) to chip away dried material. Never use the tool perpendicular to delicate surfaces, this concentrates force and increases scratch risk. For corners and joints, use the right-angle tip with the same low-angle approach. Work patiently with multiple light passes rather than aggressive scraping. Test your technique on an inconspicuous area first. For caulk residue, remove as much as possible by hand before using the pick. Clean the area thoroughly after mechanical removal.
Need an ultrafine tool to clear clogged nozzles or microfilters? Insect pins may be a practical alternative. Our unique 100 pin sampler package has 10 pins in 10 thicknesses, all made with grade 316 stainless steel.
