Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets

Buy N42 grade neodymium rare earth magnets by clicking on a subcategory below to see the complete list. Great unit prices with up to 35% off on quantity-delivered cost beats "free" shipping" Indigo NdFeb magnets are fully sintered with high dimensional tolerance. Great for research or product design for use in relays, sensors, switches, nanotechnology and much more where magnet to magnet repeatability matters.

Every magnet is minimum 13,000 gauss guaranteed & has on-line Drawings, Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, ROHS & Hysteresis graphs available for download.

NdFeb Magnet Strength

All N42 grade Indigo Neodymium magnets are rated at 13,000 gauss1, with a ± 5% variance 2.

Why N42? Because it's the best tradeoff between cost & performance. Few applications actually benefit from the extra strength & the stronger the magnet the more brittle it is.

Note (1): N42 are 13,200 gauss typical but 13,000 is guaranteed.
Note (2): N42 & other grades can be specified to meet a ± 2% variance on special order.

What our Customers Say

Beware substandard grades!. Here's what just a few of our customers have said in Google Reviews:

A) ...(Indigo) N42 Neodymium magnets, they are the real deal…bought magnets on Amazon...advertised as N52… another cheap Chinese fake. …(Indigo) sells authentic, high quality stuff … Highly recommended...full review at: Tracy Myerson.

B) Been doing business with Indigo for many years...Neodymium magnets are superb in quality and price...tools, magnifiers, tweezers...all ...withstanding the test of time...full review at: Peter Maran.

Designed for Prototyping

Indigo Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets are sized in "hard" metric in steps of of 2.5mm for diameter, thickness, hole size, etc. to make prototyping straightforward. American sizes and other grades are readily available as custom orders.

Where to buy neodymium magnets?

Neodymium Magnet Store Locations

Canadian orders ship from Waterloo, Ontario & US orders from Buffalo, New York.

What is a Neodymium Rare Earth Magnet?

Neodymium is a rare earth metal that can be combined with iron, boron & other elements into what is referred to as a neodymium (NdFeB) rare earth magnet. Each magnet has a nickel-copper-nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) coating for durability & resistance to water vapour.

Roman Teliszczuk: Purchased neodymium magnets for work. The quality, price, packaging and delivery were excellent. I highly recommend Indigo Instruments.

Mark Elliott: Great website especially the dimensional and polarity information. Magnets arrived quickly and were as expected. Used to replace weak door alarm sensor magnets.

Ron Bennett: Fantastic support and product. Beats Amazon price with real customer service. After online order was placed, they called and and asked if I had any questions and gave clear instructions on pickup process. Order was ready and in stock and the product was of the highest quality and exactly as described. Will buy other items from Indigo instruments.

Ian Kelly: I've dealt with Indigo Instruments for years now. They have always been personable and very knowledgeable. Most recently I sent them a hand-drawn sketch of my interpretation of something I saw on YouTube and wanted recommendations on what magnets to use. Chris called me up, discussed the project and made some recommendations. His recommendation was bang on. I couldn't be happier with the end product.

Brenda McIntyre: love these guys, high quality, quick service and reasonable pricing!!

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ for Rare Earth

Our smallest disc magnets start at 2.5x1mm & smallest block/rectangle magnets start at 2.5x2.5x1mm. All are guaranteed N42 grade, 13000+ gauss, & are supported by full documentation including Certificates of Compliance, Hysteresis Curves, Dimensional Drawings MSDS & ROHS,

Neodymium magnet grades are designated with an "N" & 2 digit number. This indicate relative strength & maximum operating temperature. N35 is weaker than N52 which has a higher maximum energy product (BH)max. Both have 80C operating temperatures. Those with suffix "H" or "SH" operate at higher temperatures.
