Extract hair, thread, and debris wrapped around vacuum cleaner rollers with the Indigo™ 22578 curved hook dental pick. Clean brush bars without disassembly for restored suction performance.

Hair, threads, and fibers wrapping around vacuum cleaner roller brushes reduce cleaning effectiveness and can damage motors through increased resistance. While scissors can cut through wrapped debris, they risk damaging bristles or the roller itself. The Indigo™ 22578's curved talon design provides homeowners and maintenance professionals with safer debris removal. The sharp hooked tip slides under wrapped material and lifts it away from the roller, following the roller's curve naturally. This is particularly effective for removing the tightly-wound hair masses that accumulate at roller ends and around bearings. The tool works on upright vacuums, robot vacuum cleaners, and commercial cleaning equipment. Regular roller maintenance extends vacuum life and maintains suction performance; a worthwhile task for both households and commercial cleaning operations.

Indigo™ dental tools are made with AISI 410 German surgical grade stainless steel, not "alloy steel" made from rusted cars. We've been selling dental tools on-line since 1998. Ours stay sharp longer & are autoclavable: see Documentation below that confirms chromium & manganese content.

How to Use

Unplug the vacuum cleaner before beginning any maintenance. Access the roller brush according to your vacuum's design. Many flip open without tools. Locate concentrations of wrapped hair and debris, particularly at roller ends. Insert the curved hook tip under the wrapped material and pull upward, cutting through the debris mass. The curve follows the roller contour, allowing you to work around the entire circumference. For tightly wound material, you may need to make several cuts to break up the mass before it can be pulled free. Remove debris from bearings and end caps where it commonly accumulates and causes friction. Rotate the roller by hand to ensure it spins freely before reassembling. Clean or replace filters while the vacuum is disassembled for maximum benefit.
