How to Use

The curved hook pick's effectiveness depends on proper technique matched to your specific application. For extraction tasks (fasteners, clips, debris), position the hooked tip to engage the material securely, then apply steady pulling force rather than jerking motions. The curved pick provides mechanical advantage when used correctly. For scraping and cleaning applications, work the hook under deposits and lift away from surfaces rather than scraping across them, which reduces the risk of surface damage. When cutting grooves or channels, make multiple light passes rather than heavy cuts, allowing the curved hook pick's natural curve to create the desired taper. The knurled grip section indicates the optimal hand position for control. Always work with adequate lighting and, when appropriate, magnification ⁽¹⁾  for precision tasks. Apply force progressively, feeling for the curved hook pick's engagement before committing to full force. For stuck or corroded components, apply appropriate penetrating oils or solvents before mechanical extraction. Clean the curved hook pick after use and inspect the tip regularly. Maintaining the hook's sharpness ensures optimal performance across all applications.

Jeweller's/Geology Loupes (10x, 20x, 30x) which are good for inspection work, checking your progress on fine detail work. They work well for firearm chamber inspection, PCB flux removal verification, deburring inspection, fossil preparation.

Linen Testers (6 & 8X) for checking machined part burrs, inspecting thread damage, verifying cleaning completeness. They are hands free & can sit on the work surface.

Hand Magnifiers ("Sherlock Holmes" style, typically 2-5x) for general inspection, examining larger areas. Use them for gasket surface inspection, vacuum roller cleaning verification, general maintenance tasks. They are good for scanning larger surfaces.
