Release spring-loaded clips and retaining mechanisms with the Indigo™ 22578 curved hook dental pick. Disconnect internal clips in electronics, automotive, and small appliance assemblies without damage.
Modern assemblies often use spring clips and hidden retaining mechanisms that must be disengaged for disassembly. These fasteners can reside deep within housings where fingers can't reach and where release points aren't visible. The Indigo™ 22578's curved talon configuration allows technicians to feel for and engage these hidden clips. The hooked tip catches clip edges and applies the precise force needed for release. Electronics repair technicians can use this tool for smartphone and tablet internal clips, automotive technicians for dashboard and trim clip removal, and appliance repair specialists for hidden fasteners in consumer goods. The tool's tactile feedback through the knurled grip helps locate clips by feel when visual access is impossible. This is essential for non-destructive disassembly of expensive electronics and assemblies where replacement clips aren't available.
Indigo™ dental tools are made with AISI 410 German surgical grade stainless steel, not "alloy steel" made from rusted cars. We've been selling dental tools on-line since 1998. Ours stay sharp longer & are autoclavable: see Documentation below that confirms chromium & manganese content.
Before attempting disassembly, research the specific assembly to understand clip locations and release directions if possible. Insert the curved tip into gaps and openings, feeling for clip edges or release points. When you encounter resistance, that's usually a clip. Apply gentle pulling or lifting pressure while observing if parts begin to separate. The curve allows you to apply force at angles that straight tools cannot achieve. Work slowly and methodically—forcing clips risks breaking them or the surrounding plastic. If a clip won't release, withdraw and try a different angle. Some clips require simultaneous release at multiple points. Take photos during disassembly to aid reassembly.
Need an ultrafine tool to clear clogged nozzles or microfilters? Insect pins may be a practical alternative. Our unique 100 pin sampler package has 10 pins in 10 thicknesses, all made with grade 316 stainless steel.
