Sulfite test strips are widely used for rapid, qualitative confirmation during chlorine and chloramine neutralization processes where immediate, presence/absence decisions are required. In sodium metabisulfite dosing applications, operators often need to verify whether residual sulfite is still present or has been consumed, indicating complete dechlorination before discharge, membrane protection, or downstream treatment. These strips are also commonly used during startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting as a practical cross-check alongside inline sensors and laboratory methods, helping operators isolate faults, verify analyzer readings, and make timely process adjustments without delay.
