Isolation Tank Hydrogen Peroxide Test Strips

Maintaining a sensory isolation float tank is essential for a clean, safe, and effective floating experience. Ranks require regular upkeep to maintain a high level of hygiene and functionality. The high salt concentration in float tank water inhibits most microbial growth but additional disinfection such as that provided by hydrogen peroxide is recommended. These Indigo® H₂O₂ test strips can confirm the required level of 50-100ppm is maintained.

Indigo® 100ppm hydrogen peroxide test strips have been calibrated to work in float tanks filled with a 25%-30% Epsom salt (MgSO4 •7H20, w/v) water solution. This is equivalent to a specific gravity of 1.25-1.29. See Specifications & Documentation below.

Sensory floatation tank maintenance also includes filtration using fine micron particle size filters. The filtration system typically cycles the entire water volume 2-4 times between sessions.

The inside surfaces of the tank need to be wiped down at least once a week regularly to remove skin oils left behind by floaters. Non-abrasive cleaning solutions need to be safe for both the tank material and user.

Since float tanks are self-contained, maintenance of air quality is necessary. In part to ensure freshness but also to control humidity levels to prevent mildew build-up. As such, ventilation filters also need regular clean &/or replacement.

No matter how diligent the maintenance routine, a complete water change is required from time to time. Oils from the skin, hair, and any contaminants introduced by users can build up in spite of filtration helps. The frequency of a full water change depends on usage and cleanliness but every 6-12 months should suffice.
