Build a 3D molecule structure model of Rhodamine utilizing Authentic Molymod Model Parts by Indigo Instruments
Rhodamines are xanthene derivatives characterized by their tricyclic ring base structure. Their fluorescent properties make them useful as tracer dyes in various industrial and laboratory applications. Rhodamine 6G, for example, is important in spectroscopy where it is used in tunable dye lasers. In continuous wave mode it can be tuned from 635 nm (orangish-red) to 560 nm (greenish-yellow) or when gated, produce pulses as short as 16 femtoseconds.
Other derivatives include Rhodamine 123 which is used in fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay). Another derivative, Rhodamine B can help visualize water flow patterns and has biological uses as a light microscopy stain and a biomarker for rabies vaccines.
A molecular model of Rhodamine in the Molymod Hybrid Dome style uses the atoms & bonds in the parts list below. Our free 3D Molecular Model Builder shows other styles & allows for image rotation as an assembly guide.
