Construct a molecule structure model of Lanreotide (Somatuline) utilizing Authentic Molymod Atoms & Bonds by Indigo Instruments
Lanreotide is a synthetic cyclic polypeptide consisting of 8 amino acids with its sequence represented as: "H-D-2-Nal-Cys-Tyr-D-Trp-Lys-Val-Cys-Thr-Cys-Thr-OH". "H" represents the amino group NH2 & "OH" the carboxyl group (COOH). You can build standard amino acids with our amino acid kit and augment using our 3D Molecular Model Builder for D-tryptophan (D-Trp) & 2-naphthylalanine (2-Nal).
Lanreotide is an analog of the hormone somatostatin with a number of medical uses. The principal mechanism of action for lanreotide as a medication is inhibition of human growth hormone (HGH) by binding to somatostatin receptors in the pituitary gland. This mode of action can treat acromegaly, where the hands, feet, mandible, nose & forehead, continue to grow even after the growth plates have closed. It can also limit soft tissues such as the tongue & organs.
A molecular model of Lanreotide in the Molymod Hybrid Dome style uses the atoms & bonds in the parts list below. Our free 3D Molecular Model Builder shows other styles & allows for image rotation as an assembly guide.
