Build a molecular model of Hispidin out of Genuine Molymod Atoms & Bonds by Indigo.
Hispidin, or more specifically 3-hydroxy hispidin, is a fungal luciferin precursor chemical involved in the bioluminescence of fungi. Its chemical structure is described as a polyketide, which alternates a ketone functional group with a methylene group. Other sources classify its as a styryl-pyranone & as a beta-D-glucopyranoside. The biosynthesis is effected by a hydroxylase enzyme that converts hispidin to luciferin. It has also been studiend for its diverse pharmacological properties.
A molecular model of Hispidin in the Molymod Hybrid Dome style uses the atoms & bonds in the parts list below. Our free 3D Molecular Model Builder shows other styles & allows for image rotation as an assembly guide.
