Thiamethoxam (Actara)

Assemble a molecular model of Thiamethoxam (Actara) utilizing Authentic Molymod Model Parts by Indigo

Thiamethoxam is neonicotinoid class insecticide that was developed by Syngenta. A patent dispute with Bayer (which developed other neonicotinoids) resulted in a $120 million payout to Bayer for global rights. As a neonicotinoid, Thiamethoxam acts on the insect’s nervous system resulting in paralysis. It acts as deterrent to insect feeding by being absorbed quickly by the plant and being transported to all of its parts. Thiamethoxam is effective against beetles, centipedes, millipedes, aphids, and termites.

This neonicitinoid has been banned by the EU as of July 2014.

A molecular model of Thiamethoxam in the Molymod Hybrid Dome style uses the atoms & bonds in the parts list below. Our free 3D Molecular Model Builder shows other styles & allows for image rotation as an assembly guide.
