Clean cured resin from SLA 3D printer build plates with the Indigo™ 22577 stainless steel curved scraper. Remove polymerized material without scratching aluminum or damaging FEP films.

SLA 3D printing leaves cured resin adhered to build plates and occasionally polymerized on FEP films, requiring careful removal to maintain print quality. Metal scrapers can gouge aluminum build plates, creating surface irregularities that affect print adhesion and part quality. The Indigo™ 22577's broad curved scraper provides 3D printing enthusiasts and professionals with effective resin removal. The wide scraping edge efficiently removes cured photopolymer across the build plate surface, while the curved profile allows controlled pressure distribution that minimizes scratching risk. The stainless steel tool is resistant to isopropyl alcohol and other cleaning solvents. Regular build plate cleaning prevents resin buildup that causes print failures and extends the life of expensive build plates. This tool is essential for anyone running SLA, DLP, or MSLA resin printers in hobby or production environments.

Indigo™ dental tools are made with AISI 410 German surgical grade stainless steel, not "alloy steel" made from rusted cars. We've been selling dental tools on-line since 1998. Ours stay sharp longer & are autoclavable: see Documentation below that confirms chromium & manganese content.

How to Use

Remove the build plate from the printer and place on a protected work surface. Spray or wipe the plate with isopropyl alcohol to soften any remaining uncured resin. Hold the curved scraper at a shallow angle to the build plate surface and use smooth pushing strokes to remove cured resin. The broad edge distributes pressure, reducing the risk of creating scratches or gouges. Work systematically across the entire plate surface. For stubborn spots, apply more IPA and allow brief soak time before scraping. Never use excessive force; multiple light passes are safer than heavy scraping. After mechanical cleaning, wash the plate thoroughly with IPA and inspect under good lighting for any remaining resin or surface damage. Dry completely before reinstalling. Clean the scraper with IPA after each use to prevent resin buildup.
