The Indigo™ 22577 curved scraper tool has a broad angled blade for removing paint, adhesives, concrete, sealants, and deposits from surfaces. This autoclavable stainless steel curved scraper is ideal for construction, manufacturing, laboratory, and craft applications.

The Indigo™ 22577 curved scraper tool has a broad, angled blade for efficient material removal across flat and curved surfaces. This scraper tool excels at controlled removal of coatings, deposits, adhesives, and paint overspray off window frames. Use it to scrape epoxy, concrete splatter or paraffin wax. The wide scraping edge makes cleanup faster and more efficient. The blade's slight forward angle relative to the handle axis pushes removed material to one side rather than spreading it across the cleaned area.

You can count on the Indigo™ 22577 curved scraper tool for controlled removal of stubborn material while avoiding damage to underlying surfaces.

Indigo™ dental tools are made with AISI 410 German surgical grade stainless steel, not "alloy steel" made from rusted cars. We've been selling dental tools on-line since 1998. Ours stay sharp longer & are autoclavable: see Documentation below that confirms chromium & manganese content.

How to Use

The curved scraper tool's effectiveness depends on proper technique and understanding its angled blade design. Hold the scraper so the blade contacts the surface at a low to moderate angle (typically 15-45 degrees depending on material hardness), not perpendicular to the surface. Use firm, controlled pushing strokes along the handle axis. The blade's forward angle naturally directs removed material to one side, providing self-clearing action that prevents debris from spreading back over cleaned areas. This angled design is particularly effective when working systematically across larger surfaces, as scraped material accumulates at the leading edge rather than underneath the blade. For hard, stubborn materials like cured concrete or epoxy, apply appropriate solvents or allow dampening time before scraping to reduce the force required. The broad edge distributes pressure across a wider area compared to pointed tools, reducing the risk of gouging or scratching underlying surfaces, but always test your technique on inconspicuous areas first, especially on soft materials like vinyl, painted surfaces, or unfired ceramics. The curved profile naturally follows contoured surfaces like window frames, curved equipment housings, and pottery forms. Work with adequate lighting to monitor your progress and surface condition. Clean the scraper frequently during use to prevent material buildup on the blade that could scratch surfaces. After use, clean the tool thoroughly and inspect the scraping edge. Maintaining blade condition ensures optimal performance across all applications.

Magnification tools such as jeweller's loupes or hand magnifiers can be useful in some of these applications.

  • Cleaning SLA 3D printer build plates (to detect remaining cured resin and inspect for scratches)
  • Removing adhesive residue from medical devices (to ensure complete removal and verify no surface damage)
  • Cleaning glaze drips from pottery bases before firing (to confirm no glaze particles remain that could cause kiln adhesion)
  • Removing paraffin wax from histology equipment (to verify contamination-free surfaces for subsequent specimens).

What Do Our Customers Say?

  • Kelli Cote: Great quality products at a very reasonable price! Purchased some dental picks for my daughter's University paleontology club to help with their fossil preparation lab.
  • Sandra Mead: I bought several stainless steel picks, scrapers and spatulas for art and mechanical work. They're great! They are strong, sharp and hold their shape; not like the ones you get on Amazon or at home depot. Finally a good product at a good price. I'm telling all my friends about this site. Thanks Indigo.
