The drug known as ecstasy MDMA, has the chemical formula: C11H15NO2. Its chemical structure is classed as a benzodioxole and by some, a benzene ring with a methylenedioxy group substitution with the general formula R-O-CH2-O-R'. Others classify is as a phenethylamine. The (S)-enantiomer of MDMA is considered to have the psychoactive effects.
