D-Glucose Molecular Models
This glucose molecule structure model kit includes parts to build both the alpha and beta D (or L) glucose ring structures and demonstrates the importance of molecular chirality in biology.
You can build just this glucose saccharide model alone or in combination with others in the "hybrid dome" style shown in the image or the two other styles, "open sphere" or "closed sphere" (spacefilling) using our 3D Molecular Model Builder
The chemical formula of glucose is C6H12O6; i.e. its chemical composition is 6 carbons, 6 oxygens and 12 hydrogens. This kit has enough parts to build 3 molecules of glucose; both the alpha and beta forms of glucose or D & L enantiomers of one form or the other, and a third for comparison when building disaccharides. The image shows glucose as a ring structure called a pyranose.
