Hydrogen sulfide is a potentially lethal gas produced by anaerobic decomposition of organic matter. It can be found in sewers, swamps & in oil fields where drilling is taking place.
In the image, note the two strips to the left. The left one was wetted before exposure to H2S while the middle strip was exposed dry. By wetting, the lead acetate infused strip can detect as low as 5ppm of H2S which is well below the danger level permitting time to don gas masks/respirators.
This strip can be used on any drinking water but should be of particular interest to anyone using a well or groundwater who has concerns about bacterial contamination. These test papers do not come with a color chart but the presence and relative concentration of hydrogen sulfide is readily apparent. At roughly 1-3ppm, the white test paper will start to turn grey and get progessively darker up to 400ppm.

The test strips from Indigo are top notch. They are always competitively priced and shipped on time. The best part of dealing with Indigo is that they stay on top of their products. We had a bad batch of strips arrive in the past but before we could figure it out the hard way, Indigo had identified the issue and had a replacement order already in the mail to us. Pretty hard to beat that kind of customer service.
Thanks for the kind words & great review. We knew how important these strips were to your business & we happy to nip it in the bud!
