Indigo® 0–1500 ppm quat test strips are for businesses and regulators who need reliable verification of quaternary ammonium disinfectant levels. Quats are widely used in food service, healthcare, schools, and janitorial cleaning, but their effectiveness depends on maintaining sanitizer concentrations within recommended ranges. Health inspectors often require test results that show sanitizer buckets, spray bottles, or wipe solutions are in compliance with FDA Food Code, NSF, and local regulations.

Do not use hot water. Water warmer than 40C/105F may give false high readings.

The simple answer for "not in the desirable range" is to add more Quat concentrate if the reading is low. Add more water if the reading is high. Then retest. Don't worry about being exact, you can be +/- 10% without major consequences.

Specifications

Dip strip & remove for immediate reading at 200-400-750-1000-1500 ppm for quaternary ammonium disinfectant concentration. Read strip results immediately. If you wait the 30 seconds needed for some other strips you will get a reading that is too high.

  • Indigo® quat test strips have a guaranteed minimum 3 year shelf life but are stored in desiccant lined vials so actual shelf life can be 5+ years.
  • Store in original vial in a cool, 20-30C, dry, place out of direct sunlight.
  • Detection limit: 50ppm; Accuracy: +/- ½ color chart unit
