We added magnets to our sodium chloride model & flattened it into a 8x8 atom matrix to show surface chemistry-chemical vapor deposition; only $119.95.
Each of the 32 grey ("sodium") & 32 green (chlorine) atoms has a magnet pressed into the hole normally reserved for a bond. All you need do is connect these atoms with regular short bonds.
The set also comes with 3 "water" molecules with the magnet poles oriented so that oxygen is attracted to sodium and hydrogen is attracted to chlorine.
Additional magnets are available if you wish to convert all the plastic bonds to magnetic ones.
