Sharp, rustproof #2 insect pins for piercing thin, sheer fabrics such as silk, lace, or satin without tearing. Ideal for textile testing, crafts, and conservation labs and won't leave a hole or any trace.
When precision matters, #2 stainless-steel insect pins are the tools of choice for piercing delicate fabrics such as silk, chiffon, or fine lace. Their thin, polished shafts slip smoothly through tight weaves, minimizing fiber tearing and distortion. The stainless finish resists corrosion, ensuring consistent sharpness even when used repeatedly. They're also heat-resistant and convenient for pressing & can be ironed over without damaging the underlying material.
Beyond sewing or embroidery, these pins are valued in forensic textile analysis, museum restoration, and materials science labs where maintaining fabric integrity is critical. Each pin’s fine point allows controlled insertion into woven or layered materials, making them excellent for calibration of test rigs or alignment of sensor patches on cloth substrates.
Don't take chances with your valuable museum collectibles. Unlike cheap nickel plated brass, these are made with high grade Swedish steel that will absolutely never rust. If you are working with vintage materials, lace, or skinny patchwork pins (0.4mm) that are even thinner check the Technical section which lists all pin diameters in mm & by wire gauge.
We've offered Czech made stainless steel pins since 2005. Entosphinx stainless steel pins are 316 grade stainless steel with a nylon head; protect your valuable collections whether they're insects or textiles. Buy just a few & our delivered cost beats "free" shipping!

Entosphinx stainless steel pins are made from 316 grade stainless steel which has a minimum of 0.36% molybdenum (Mo) for superior corrosion resistance. This Certificate of Analysis is our guarantee of truly rust resistant insect collection pins.
Entosphinx pins are a favorite of mine, I was very excited to find these available from a North American company and at a great price. I really appreciate the reduced pricing for larger quantities. Shipping was also very reasonably priced and the pins arrived in excellent condition, I look forward to ordering them again.
I have been buying these stainless steel pins from Indigo for years to mount insects. They are reliable, top quality. I also have purchased various loupes and magnifiers, and a bunch of different tools. Indigo always provides quick service, reliable quality, prompt replies to inquiries, helpful advice, and low prices. I prefer buying from indigo rather than Amazon. Amazon lists too many choices. many of them sold by third parties. It is too easy to pick a dud with Amazon. I can count on Indigo's top quality.
Purchased these insect pins to mount some molted feathers from my pet bird. I'm really happy I was able to find a quality product that I can use to create my art. The product was superior to what I could find places like Amazon where the quality and origins are dubious at best. The price was higher than those places, but you get what you pay for and it was worth paying the shipping cost to know the pins weren't going to rust six months down the line after my art piece was complete and that I could contact a real person if I needed support.
Thanks for the feedback. We do our best to supply best in class products. Some are brand name like the insect pins & others are good generics.
I used these pins for my insect collection. They work great!
We greatly appreciate your feedback & compliments. Weve taken pride since going on-line in 1994 in our offering top grade products & supporting them with science trained sales staff.
