Recommendations from our chemist, Scott S.:
Sometimes a spoonful of activated carbon (like the stuff used in aquariums) in a small sample will reduce the color. I have tried this with some success. It doesn’t appear to affect the pH. They will need to mix it well and give it some time to do its work. Other than that, the recommendation is to use an electronic method where color doesn’t play a role.

The service was great. We received these quickly. We were able to confirm that our apple wine had been acidified enough. So this is a great product. I will tell any wine-making friends about this.

Easy and convenient. Not very suitable for colored liquids such as measuring pH of a red wine that taints the strip color.
Thanks for the feedback. We asked our chemist about this & he recommended using activated charcoal. See his full reply on the product page.
