Silicon Diamond Thin Film Model

This molecular model shows what a thin film of silicon that has been laid down by chemical vapor deposition on a a diamond substrate might look like. An actual semiconductor device would of course need many more layers.

This is a slightly different version of the diamond model. This one has 2 diamond layers (black) with a single layer of silicon on top (grey) or vice versa. We also have a version with some red and green atoms that are attached to the surface as a fanciful illustration of a quantum computing device.
